Hi Boxerforums, nice site you have. Without meaning to be critical I would sugest letting people read the forums without registration. Keep it for posting ability. :)

Hey Cerianne!

That's great news, I think the right decision. I'm sure Roxy will soon be as loved as Tyler.

Do's and don'ts hmm... Off the top of my head I'm not sure. Fun and lots of it. Training and lots of it. :D

Hi Margaret!

I eveny you, it reminds me very much of the time I had with Lily and Jason together. The best pairing of dogs (Equal with Jason and Lottie.) we had.

I think male and female with a decent age gap seems to work very well.

I'm sure Pixie will learn pretty quick that cats are not for upsetting. :D

Easter was pretty good thanks, hope your was great too. :)

Just realised that once again I'd mistook Jasons age. Saw a document today which showed his birthday to be this month. So he's just turned 12. :)

Cerianne, totally the right choice, a little whitey to hep heal the hole in your heart!
No new dog can ever replace a lost boxer, but even though she's a girl, and white as well, I bet you can see Tyler looking out of her eyes every time you look at her, can't you.?!..my last "owner " was a little white girl.. good luck with those hairs.!!....

thank you.
roxy is one on her own. everyone says how pritty she is. but she is a devil, her way or no way.
i have got her to sit, stay and lie . she is ok on the lead, but saying that she is small and got no power. tyler was great he would heel off the lead.
if someone visits they do not talk to her till she is sat.
what i would like to know is at what age can i put a harness on her . as i found them good in the past.

As many others loved your site. My boxer - my wee boy Thor is one on Saturday and he is the best thing that has ever happened to us. He makes us laugh and smile everyday. He loves nothing better than putting his paws round my neck to give me a cuddle and nuzzle into my neck. Thor is a big part of our family. Loved your pictures.

Hi Paul and everyone. We brought Boris and Pixie on two weeks holiday to Kerry, just back. We had a great time. They were very good indeed. Boris is now completely "enchanted" by Pixie, if we give our to her he comes over and nuzzles into us, I think to divert our attention. And believe me we sometimes have to "give out to her", she is completely mad but a great addition to the family and of course she is beautiful and everybody has to stop to admire her. Talk soon. Margaret.

roxy is lots of fun. 12 weeks old and into every thing. i can not stop her bitting me, she is only playing but i need to stop it now.
if i tell her no, she thinks i am playing, and comes back for more. i gave her one of her toys but she likes my arm more.
I think you may like this. planted all my pots up out the garden, look great.
5 min later when i was in the bath, came down there were all in roxy's bed and her face was black, she was so proud of herself
[look mam i have been helping you ] ? do you cry or laugh.

Hi Debi, thanks for posting, give duke a big hug for me! :)

Hey Hannah, yup Boxers are stars, ecellent choice of name. :)

Hi Cerianne! That's funny, laugh i say. Destruction of your worldly possetions is all part of it my oppinion. Unless it really gets out of hand it's the sort of thing you look back on fondly in years to come. :D I don't see a problem with putting a harness on now. Never used one before though. Anyone else got an opinion on that?

Hi there Colette!

Wow wish I'd thought of the name Thor for a Boxer. It's a great name for a boy. I'm glad he's bringing so much joy to you. :)

Hey Margaret,

Nice to hear you have a right little family now. Everything all settled. I envy you, I miss the whole time I had Jason and lilly together. I look back on it very fondly like a little golden age. :D I think you'll have some very happy years to come with them. :)

Glad you got a holiday too, hope you had some time for yourselfs this time too. :D

Oh by the way folks, it's not much but there's a picture of my brothers dog up now as well as a new one of Jason. Don't like the jason picture much he looks so old and od in that picture. Not the way i see him. Think I have another i can put up later.

Lovely site. I lost both of my boxers in the last 12 months, one with a stomach torsion and one with cancer. Desperately saddening, but wouldn't have missed the years of fun that these two old codgers of rescue dogs gave me.
In due time, I'll be scouring the boxer dog rescue sites again - couldn't not, could you?

and jason looks very well which is a great thing. i dont think he looks old. how old is he.

Hi Paul, love the new photos. Murphy is a beautiful dog. Jason reminds me a bit of Suzy would you believe, something especially about his eyes. They have such sad eyes, full of expression. I don't think he looks old at all. Have had Pixie with the Vet twice in the past week, she hurt her leg and was limping badly last Sunday and then on Thursday night she got an allergy to something, don't know what, but she just started swelling up everywhere she had to have a cortisone injection. Anyway she is ok now, I think she is just mad and will be "one of those dogs". Talk soon. Margaret.

Hi, I enjoyed reading your site after googling boxers, especially looking at the pictures! I hope to get a Boxer soon to. I saw on your links site that you wanted people to let you know about useful Boxer links, I found this really good one and thought you might want to mention it; http://www.dogweb.co.uk/boxer.htm

btw I use Firefox too it's so good!

I own my second boxer bitch , who once a year develops two bald patches over the kidney area of the back. ther is no discomfort and the hair returns. No vet has been able to explain this . does any other boxer owner know of a similar occurence or can explain?

Hello Jo!

Sorry to hear that you lost you both your dogs in such hard ways and in such a short time period between them both. That's hard to take.

Still sounds like they had good long life's and yes, I think you should get looking again. :)

Cerianne! Wow sounds like you have a star on your hands, next stop Crufts supreme champion. :D Thant's great. :) Jason is around 12 or 13 I really need to check out his documentation to be sure though.

Hello collette!

Thanks for stopping by, sounds like you have a lovely dog. Before I ever had a white one I never really wanted one. Not that I had a problem with them but i preferred the standard colours. Now though I'd really quite love to have another white. So I'm a bit jealous of you.

Hey Margaret,

Nice to hear from you as always, sorry that pixies had some troubles and glad t hear she's alright now.

Reminds me of something that happened to Jason when he was young. To this day i have no explanation. It must have been an allergic reaction to something or a poisoning by something. One night he developed huge golf ball sized lumps all over his body. It was quite unbelievable. Like something from a sci fi film. Can't remember how it got cured now though. I guess the vet did something similar to that which helped Pixie.

How's Boris? :)

Hey there Pete!

Thanks for the link, that's a nice set of details about boxers. Interesting to all I'd expect, especially those looking to get one. Like yourself. I hope you do manage to get a Boxer. Be sure and come back to tell us if you do! :)

Phillip,

Hello. :) I have seen similar thinning (Not baldness) on bitches in the same area. For the life of me though I can't remember if there was ever an explanation or not.

I'll try asking some of my family if they can remember. If anything useful pops up I'll post the info for you. :)

Sorry I've been so inactive folks and sorry for all the comment spam that keeps appearing.

Paul

Hi Abi!

More than opne Murphy! That's a worry. :D Thanks for stopping by and I sympathise about the d\\mage, I've been there. I'm sure Martha will grow out of it though. :)

Tail docking was just banned here in Scotland. It will be odd to see lots of long tailed boxers. I guess moraly I probably agree with it. But I don't like how they look with long tails.

Guess I'll get used to it though. :)

Just a little message to sorry for the new spam filter thingy when you make a comment.

You can pretty much just copy and paste or highlight and drag the code into the form feild though so it's not to intrusive.

I'm not really sure it will work because it's text based and can be copied but it's worth a try because I'm having to delte 30 to 50 spam comments a day at present.

Hi again Paul, noticed all the spam a bit of a nuisance for you. Anyway just to update you on "my family", what can I say about Boris only that he is PERFECT, he is just the best thing ever, he is so well behaved and it helps that he just adores John and myself and of course Pixie is his best friend. I just love him to bits and spend a lot of time telling him this and hugging him which he just love. We are now getting up at 6 a.m. every morning and bringing the two of them out for an hour's walk before it gets too warm, they are like clockwork and are now at the bedroom door every morning at about 6 waiting for us to get up and when we open the door there are these two little faces (well one not so little) looking up at us and then of course the excitement and to think that this time last year we were having that awful time with Suzy. Anyway Paul that is the update on my babies, they are just great. Hugs to Jason. Talk soon. Margaret.

This is truly a wonderful idea: to share your pets in this way. It is extremely helpful to those looking to bring a boxer as a pet, into their lives. Thank you for the descriptions and photos. Very encouraging. My oldest daughter is thinking about having a boxer as a pet; so I just forwarded your info to her.

Many thanks for your lovely website.

Hi Primrose. :)

Thanks for the lovely comments. I'm glad to think that this little site might just help persuade your daughter to get herself a Boxer.

Of course you know what I'm going to say. :D Do it! I can't imagine she'd regret it.

Nice to meet you! :)

Margaret,

Hey great to hear things are so splendid at your place. I'm currently looking after my brothers little boy Murphy. So you can imagine I'm having a lot of fun because quite frankly he is. He's also spoilt rotton but that's how I like them. :D

It's lovely to hear how much a team Pixie and Boris have become. Makes me very happy especially after the heartache with Suzy. Hard to believe that was a year ago now.

Enjoy it, well, I know you will and keep in touch. :)

Paul
