Your boxers are gorgeous, but then they all are! I hope Jason is okay. Please have a look at www.ratemypet.co.nz and search under my name Jennifer Ross and you will see pictures of my babies Amber and Fudge. If you search under Lynne Linden you will see Fudges litter, her mum, dad and sister!!! They are all gorgeous!! Amber is from a rescue centre we have only had her a month, but she is doing great!!!

Jennifer, Amber probably pulls on the lead cos she's new to the "pack" and is trying to establish her place in the pecking order. Whenever I've had one good walker and one bad, I connect the lead of the bad one to the collar of the good one, so hopefully Fudge will help train Amber. Mind you, it's usually the case that the good one is older than the bad one, but not so with you is it? Still, if they're both fairly equally sized, Amber might accept Fudge as dominant, and toe the line.

Thanks for the advice Steve I will give it a try!! Amber is actually smaller than Fudge (she is actually small for a boxer!) so Fudge does tend to be a leader, so it might just work!! Thanks again!!

Hi,
I some how stumbled across ur site, I was looking for info, as I have 4 beutifull girls boxers! Jasmine (7) is mum, Blossom(1&half) eldest daughter & Holly-Rose(9months) is lil sis and Poppy we adopted about 5yrs ago, I was looking for some information on boxers with cancer, as my dearest Poppy has an aggresive form, and her legs have started to play up,not sure if it could be linked to the cancer? And we had a blow today, Jasmine has had what we thought was a wart on her leg, well we thought best to get it checked out, turns out it is a form of cancer and they want to remove the growth and check her glands,Iam petrified I will lose one of my girls if not 2. we only lost grandma Rosie last november she was 12 and I cant bear to lose any more of my girls so soon. Just wondering if any one has any advice & if they have known boxers to get through cancer??
I would just like to say its really nice to come across ppl who love boxers as much as I do!! I dont think there is any other breed that gives as much back as what boxers do!

Sorry I've been away for a bit. Hello to all the new folks.
I'd post to what you've been talking about but at the moment. It's all i can do to write and to say that we lost Jason last night.
I'll likely post a bit more in a few days.

Sorry to hear of your loss Paul, the down-side to loving a boxer is the amount of pain that losing one causes. I won't bother with the usual "at least he had a good innings" type of platitude, I know it wont help at the minute. chin up.

Paul what can I say what a shock we only came back from Kerry on Saturday and back to work yesterday so this is the first time I have logged on to your site. Our beautiful babies have far too short a life span. Maybe Micky Rourke is right, he only goes for the little ones as he says that they live longer and he can't bear to lose them. My heart breaks for you. Two nights before we went to Kerry our friend's boxer (she had two brothers) was killed on the road, another awful shock. We will be thinking about you.

i have not been on your site for a few weeks
as we have been moving house and i have not had a pc,
i just read the sad news about JASON. all i can say is how sorry i am. when i lost TYLER you said i gave him the best life i could, and i know you done the same by JASON.
I was sent a poam by the person i had tyler off that he had wrote when he lost one of his boxers, when i unpack i will find it and send it.
Talking of unpacking ROXY is unpacking she niks things out of the boxes and takes them down the garden which she thinks is the best fun ever.

Hi folks,
First off I?d just like to say thanks for all the kind comments. It really is appreciated and of course I know many if not all of you have been in pretty much the same situation. I was going to give you all full account but I don?t think there?s any point really. So to cut to the quick.
Unfortunately it was not an easy end. Jason got bloat/torsion. Very distressing, painful to watch, but obviously worse for him. It progressed very quickly and even if it hadn?t at Jason?s age it likely wouldn?t have been fair to put him through an operation which has a less than stellar success rate. So he was put to sleep between half two and three in the morning last Thursday.
It?s very strange without him.
There?s been a lot of comments since I last properly posted and I think you?ve mostly helped each other out with any questions, plus I?ve never been an authority. So I won?t comment on everything. I will try and comment to everyone though.
Hey Jennifer!
Sounds like you have your hands full with Amber, hope you manage to get her under control. Honestly I was never the most dedicated trainer and so I?ve had a few dogs with the pulling problem. Especially when at a young age. Best of luck!
Had a look over at ratemypet and the puppy picture of Fudge is gorgeous. Love the pictures on tables and couches too though. I?m pretty jealous of you just now. 
Kudos to you for rescuing!
Hi Paul!
Well I?ve never been without a boxer except for very short periods of time before now. So it?s hard to imagine myself without one in my life. Even though I have Ben here (A rough Collie.) things seem very empty now without Jason. Still I don?t have any immediate plans to get another Boxer. It?s too soon for me yet. Thanks for posting and coming back Paul!
Hello Sheila!
Well, I wouldn?t look too deeply into the why?s of the personalities of the boxers you had. I think any dog of any breed can be aggressive and it sounds like Boris was a lovely family friend despite any problems he may have had with strangers. You were aware of it and legislated for it that?s all that matters. Right now, can certainly sympathise with your Boxer less position.
You?re not planning on leaving us any time soon are you? I don?t know but you don?t come across as all that old to me and I?m sure you have plenty of love to give. So unless you?re very ill or very old I?d say live life and get another dog. 
Hello Iely!
Thanks for popping by and as the saying goes. Size doesn?t matter.
Hey there Steve!
Thanks for always answering questions, especially as I normally don?t have an answer in a hurry and often don?t have a good answer anyway. As for platitudes, well they do help a bit because it?s true Jason did have a good innings. It?s something to be grateful for. Whilst in some ways that makes loosing him harder in some it makes it easier.
Thanks Steve!
Hello Amy!
Four Boxers? Now that sounds a handful, sounds like a wonderful family. It?s nice to have you here.
Now cancer, I?ve only had one dog who contracted it thankfully. Poor Lottie, she had a brain tumour. Unfortunately it eventually caused us to have her put to sleep.
I guess what I?m trying to say I that I don?t know too much about it. I do know that boxers commonly get all sorts of benign growths as they get older. That usually it?s nothing to worry about but about cancer and the possibilities I?m pretty ignorant.
I would imagine that Jasmines lump could be pretty easily removed though and hopefully solve the issue.
I wish I had something more useful to tell you Amy, something to help.
I wish you, Poppy and Jasmine all the luck in the world and really hope things work out perfectly for you.
Hiya Margaret!
Nice to hear from you, I hope you had a magic time in Kerry. You and the family are well and that it?s not too much a drag to be back at work.
Sorry about your friends dog and thanks of course for your sympathies.
Give Boris and Pixie big hugs from me!
Hey Ceri!
Nice to see you again! Glad to hear things seem to be going well for you and Roxy. Hope your move hasn?t been any more stressful than Roxy?s thievery and thank you!
Sorry this has been such a long read, the hazzards of neglecting your own site. Also, thanks again for all the kind comments about Jason. It does mean an awful lot to me.
Thank you,
Paul

Glad to see you back Paul, again commiserations.
It does seem to me that boxers do have an unfairly short life span, but maybe that's because they live life so fully, that maybe they just seem to be shorter. Like the saying that time passes quickly when your having fun. There does seem to be quite a few cases tho, of "usual boxer problems" so maybe it's time for breeders to stop concentrating on getting such "pure" boxer bloodlines and maybe throw a few mongrels into the gene pool; maybe get a bit of natural resilliance to common problems. That may help those of us that love these clowns as pets, to have them a couple of years longer. Sorry, that turned into a bit of a rant toward the end there, didnt it?

Glad to see you back and thanks for your comments on Fudge and Amber. I know its far too early for you to think about another boxer, but there are so many of them out there looking for homes. I couldnt actually believe how many!!! Dont know where you are based, I am in Scotland and Boxer Welfare Scotland have so many boxers coming through their doors who need someone to love them!! Take a look at their website! My thoughts are with you!!

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply, 4 boxers is a handfull but I wouldent have it any other way!! Its so nice in the morning when you have 4 of them bouncing round the garden were there so excited to see you! there crazy girls, and I adore them! Jasmine had her op on Monday, and the future looks good! The vet said she thinks she has removed it all, but we are having her lymph glands checked just incase. Poppy is ok, she plods along quite happily not sure for how long tho? As for my two babies Holly & Blossom they have taken to digging up all the roses bushes!! I cant stay mad at them tho because they look so funny when they have petals stuck in there teeth and mud for a beard and they look at u so innocent! It would be very boring with out them all!

Hey Steve!
Rants are ok! Yeah the usual illnesses are certainly a problem of many tightly interbred breeds.
I think the problem is one that's getting better with responcible breeders taking care to select their bloodlines.
Not that they go to extent of throwing in a mongrel of course.
But along the same idea.
I know my aunt has had dogs imported from Italy, Holland (Jason was half Dutch.) and many other places for example.
So like I say hopefully things will get better.
Hi Jennifer!
I popped over to Boxer Welfare Scotland and I was suprised and embarresed i'd never heard of them before. Like you I was also surprised at how many they had rehomed. Only since 2005 i think it said.
I'll certainly keep them in mind and if nothing else make a donation when I can afford it.
Thanks!
Hello Amy!
So glad to hear that everything seems to be good for Jasmine. I suspected it would be. It's good news.
For Poppy I really hope she has a huge long time with you yet. One thing I'm certain of though, Is that however long that time is, it will be time she and you enjoy. Maybe in some sense that's what is most important.

That would be great Paul, they do a great job, unfortunately my two had a major fight yesterday - proper fight with blood!! Really scared me. Amber is in season so think this may have caused it. Trying to keep them apart till her season ends. Do you think this is probably best thing to do. It is so unlike them they were getting on really well!!
Bit worried!!!

Hi jennifer,
I thought I might be able to help as I have 4 girls and if 1 of them is in season, the others do tend to stay well away, an example blossom my 18month old she had her first season about 3 months ago......what a nightmare!! she was like a diffrent dog! normally she is so laid back & chilled & sociable.......but when in season she would steal soft toys and hide them and if any of the others went near them...well they got told!! She even jumped a 7ft fence to try and find a male! Very worrying! it was totaly out of charecter! But as soon as her season finished she was back to normall Bloss...thank god!! But really to anwser your question they can be extremley tetchy & even more if its her first as they dont quite no whats happening! So try not to worry to much....luckily its only once every 6months!

Thanks very much for that Amy, puts my mind at ease!!! Getting Amber spayed after her season anyway as she is a rescue dog and appears to have had puppies - not too sure about her background which only makes it harder!!! Thanks for the advise, hopefully after this once we wont have to go through it again - till Fudge comes into season again anyway!! The things we do for our babies!!

Your welcome Jennifer, I no it can be worrying when they are in season, but at least it is only once every 6 months, I could not handle every month!! Our youngest should be due her first season soon..... iam dreading it... as she quite a feisty little madam!! She's an absloute doll... but she does like to get her own way & 100% rules the roost with my lot!

Hi Paul and everyone, hope you are feeling good again. My babies are great, Pixie still eating everything in the house including the sky remote control and my dinner on Friday night but she is so full of life it is hard to be cross with her for long. Boris is just perfect what more can I say about him. The girl from whom we got Pixie sent me photos yesterday of Pixie's brother Rufus and his mother Molly, Rufus is a "real man" you couldn't mistake him for a girl and one of our friends described Pixie as "very pretty" recently which is true she could not be a boy. Anyway how is Murphy getting along, you are so lucky to have him in your life, it does help doesn't it? Talk soon.

I came across your site whilst looking for pictures etc of Boxers. I have 2 myself, Buster and Harvey who are father and son. I have just set up a site which displays a lot of my pictures of them in their various poses etc. I hope you take a look and like what you see. You have some fantastic dogs which remind me a lot of mine as do all boxers. All the best Phil (uk)

Hi Hovig,
If I could recomend any breed with chilldren it would 100% be a boxer!! They are absloutley fantastic with chilldren! I cant praise them enough with chilldren! My partners family have grown up with boxers and they used to climb all over them... dress them up the lot!! and the dogs used to be in there glory!! Obviously when if you do get a boxer you should always see the parents.... if you contact the boxer club they will put you in touch with breeders, I no the secertary of the Boxer club, shes a lovely lady in her 80's but very very pasionate about her boxers, so be prepared for lots of questions!! and you must rember, a dog is like a child it is all about how you bring them up, you make them a family dog or you make them a guard dog! Hope this helps a bit, and if you do get a boxer, I can tell you, you will have many years of happiness, there brilliant!!
