Hi Jennifer,

Sorry to hear about the fight, never nice to have to deal with of course though I only really had problems with that sort of thing with one pairing of dogs. Muffin and Troy. I think that was largely because they were both female and Muffin was a very dominant dog. They had two major fights but i can't remember now whether any were in season. It's pretty plausible though.

Glad Amy could help you out. :)

Amy! How is poppy doing? I hope she's well. Thanks for being so helpful here, with people like yourself and Steve around it makes me feel better about being so negligent over the comments here.

About your dog pictures Amy, you might want to try somewhere like http://www.flickr.com/ if you already have pictures on your computer. It's pretty easy to use.

Hello Phill,

Welcome to the site, glad you posted the link to your dogs pictures. I've got a big soft spot for the older boxers with grey on their faces so I really enjoyed the pictures. Especially the ones where Buster and Harvey are cuddled up together. Really pleasurable Phill and nice to see pictures of the dogs from different ages to the present. :)

Hello Margaret!

Yeah I'm a lot better now thanks. It's still difficult at times but thinking of Jason is a lot easier now.

My brothers dogs are great. Actually I had them all last week to look after due to a lot of work being done to my brothers house. So that was very nice but wow. I'd forgotten how much work two young dogs are. Murphy is only around 16 months old so still a puppy really and even has a lot of physical growing to do . At the moment he's still very elegant and has a lot of bulking outwards to go I think. Maybe not we'll see. Betty the little pup I'm not sure her age but she is crazy and constantly fighting with Murphy. It was a lot of fun.

Sounds like Pixie is a bit like Betty if a little older. There's nothing she won't put in her mouth.

Hey Tiff,

Just wanted to sympathise with you over your dog. I can't imagine how awful that would be to have your pet stolen. Must be worse that suffering a dogs death. I really hope you find a new Boxer at some point.

Prof,

Thanks for stopping by, there might just be more pictures in a bit. :)

Help needed - I have rescued 2 male boxers (Father & Son) they were being neglected - had them checked by the vet, wormed, got them back to good weights but unfortunately due to a change in my personal circumstances I am unable to keep them - any ideas - they can't be separated, I don't want to give them to a rescue centre but would love to re-home them in the right environment

Hi Catherine! :)

I wish i had some decent advice to give you but I doubt I know what your best course would be better than you do.

I've never been in a difficult situation like that where I had to give a dog away. Let alone a pair.

I have heard in the past of rescue organisations that will keep dogs together as long as it takes until they find a suitable home that would take both.

I'd assume any boxer rescue group in your area might do that. I'm afraid I just don't know though Catherine.

I'm very sorry I'm not more use. Maybe someone else will post with ideas. :)

Best of luck in any case and I hope your situation improves also.

Paul

Catherine

You must be so upset at having to lose both your babies, i can only imagine. You should try the breed specific rescues. Many will make sure that the dogs are kept together. I am in Scotland and Boxer Welfare Scotland have a website with contacts etc. Not sure where you are based to be of more help!?!?! Check the net for your nearest Boxer rescue centre! Feel free to email me !!

thought i should let you all see my babies now i am getting better on the net - here they are

Catherine, what a dilemma you have, i would hate to be in your situation, I have father and son too and it would be unthinkable for me to seperate them, but what ever you decide i think you will do the right thing for both of you, you and the dogs i mean, and best of luck

Hi Paul

I havent been on for a while but I come on in need of help from all boxer lovers that read this page. Just as a bit of background I was last on and spoke of George who was a little pup at the time, I sent you a picture through and offered to scan in some pictures for you, remember?

Anyway I now have another pup. Geroge is now 19 months and we also now have a little white girl called Gabs who is 4 months. They are doing fab together, soulmates already!

Anyway, I have entered them both into a competition in the local paper (evening express, Aberdeen, Scotland) which is for the cutest pet in Aberdeen. They are both in the shortlist of 380 pets. You have to phone your vote in for them and the winner gets a £500 cheque and a trophy. If we win I will donate my money to Boxer Welfare Scotland (http://www.boxerwelfarescotland.org.uk/) check out the site, its a fantastic cause.

Details for voting are as follows:

Phone: 09018 901019
You will be asked to enter a 3 digit code to vote for a specific pet.

Georges code: 052
Gabs' code: 055

Please anyone who wishes to vote plese do, I am doing this purely so I can give some boxer dogs at the rescue centre a happy and full christmas. Thanks in advance, and nice popping in again Paul.

Hey Jennifer you got it spot on this time I see Fudge and Amber! They look gorgeous. :D

Paul,

Of course I remember you and it sounds like a great idea you've had. It'd be nice if one of your dogs won anyway but with the cash for a win going to needy boxers that's even better. I'll phone this evening. :)

Glad you've picked up a new member of the family too. :)

Hi David,

Nice to meet another Camsail boxer owner. :)

Though I don't actually have any Boxer at the moment since Jason died a little while back. The breeding of any of the dogs I'm afraid is not something i can remember off hand. I would need to dig out the papers belonging to each to find out and the only papers I know for sure i still have are Jason's.

I could certainly dig his out if you're interested. To be honest though I've been avoiding all things Jason since his death. Well, apart from those things I can't avoid of which there are plenty.

For example I still haven't updated his page here. I still find it hard to go out my way to think about him much. I will need to do that though.

Paul

It will take you a long time to get over the loss of Jason - you can tell how much he meant to you - boxers have a way of getting deep into your heart!!! Dont rush things!

hi have not been on for some time, rox is doing great. we are getting to understand each other now. i know what she wants most of the time, and she know what NO means now. hope things are getting better for you . you should think of jason and remeber all the fun things he did . and know that you made him as happy as he made you. I still miss tyler with all my heart, but we now talk about all the things he got up to . like the time he run across the canal, there was all green weed on top and he must of thought it was grass, he got half way then sank. it was in the winter and my husband had to go in to help. it was so funny well i think it was because of tylers face / it was like thank dad. and my hubbs face was #### not happy

I love looking at everyones photos, i would to show some of mine but i do not know how

Hi Paul and everybody. I can see that you are having a very hard time getting over Jason, he was obviously very special indeed. We still think and talk a lot about Suzy even though Boris and Pixie are great, Suzy was the special one. Would you believe we were in our local Bar yesterday afternoon, John's sister was down for lunch and we went for a pre lunch drink. We were sitting at the fire in the Bar with our two babies. Now this fire was Suzy's favourite place and she thought that she owned it and if there was anybody sitting at the fire and she couldn't get close she would go up to them and sniff them as if to say "I don't know you what are you doing sitting at my fire" and she would walk away in disgust. Three students came in and sat beside us, I hadn't seen them before but they knew us because of the dogs, they asked me about Suzy and one of them said "we used to give her crisps but she was very particular about which ones, if she didn't like the crisps she would sniff them, take one in her mouth and spit it out and give another sniff and walk away. That was so typically Suzy, she hated salt and vinegar crisps but loved all others so they obviously gave her salt and vinegar. We were just so proud of the fact that they remembered her so well, I don't think that anybody who came into contact with her ever forgot her she was so special and to think that she had been put into the Dog Pound by her "family". Some not very nice people out there. Anyway what I am trying to say is that really will always have a special place for Jason as he was obviously a very special baby indeed. Just my thought for a we Monday morning. Talk soon. Margaret.

Hi Paul

Haven't been on for a wee while so thought I would drop you a wee note to see how you are doing, I can only imagine how difficult it must be for you just now! Just hope that you are keeping your chin up and remebering all the great times you had with Jason!

Best wishes from Jennifer, Fudge and Amber

enjoyed reading about your boxers and other peoples boxers. Yes very sad when they pass on due to old age or illness. We got our first boxer Gator in 1983 and he ran my life till his heart went on him aged 11 in 1994. My sisters boxer Jasper who turns 8 in March 2007 has my heart at the moment. My brother also with 2 boxers Crusty and China also keep me busy when I visit them. Thankyou Gator for the love that I now show all boxers for as far as I'm concerned there is only 1 breed to love.

Hello Folks!

Merry Christmas, Hanukkah or whatever else you might be celebrating this time of year. :)

A Happy New Year when it comes too.

Hello Paul, thanks for stopping by! I'll thank Gator too, for creating another Boxer lover. :)

Hey there Jennifer! :) Hello Ceri! Thanks for the well wishes. Things are a lot better now. It was strange as originally I delt with it quite well I thought and then things became harder. Anyway things are pretty good now. I'll almost certainly be looking at getting another Boxer in the new year.

Hugs to Fudge and Amber! To Rox also. :)

Seems to be pretty common that we do call our dogs by some strange nicknames Phil. But um Crumpet? :D

Hey Margaret! Always nice to hear how you're doing. :)

Yes, I try not to look at any of the dogs as special in comparison with the others. Certainly that becomes difficult in the wake of a loss though.

Over time though any seeming importance placed on one dog dissipates. The exception being on how hard the loss was to deal with. I think perhaps Lilly and Troy were both particularly hard because they were still young and had hardly lived their lives to my mind. I'd expected to have so much more time with both. Lily the hardest because of them all as I still blame myself to this day for her not having had more of a chance to survive.

I can't know if she would have but she could have been treated more promptly and I think I could have insisted on her getting more invasive treatment straight away. I think in that case I knew better than the vet but allowed my suspicions to be put aside.

Everything is easier and better with time though. :)

Hello Boris and Pixie! :D

Paul
