I have a white boxer called Roxy, she is three years old, she is the second best thing to ever happen to me and anybody who is serious about buying a dog should go for a boxer, they may look tough but they have a soft centre and every boxer I know is the same. All you have to do is make sure they get lots of love and hugs all throughout there lives and they will do the same for you!! x

Good sight but very sad.
I dread the day I have to say goodbye to my Boxer girl, Cassy.
That said she is only 2 yrs old and we hopefully have a long time ahead to enjoy her a lot more.
We do have a big problem with Cassy though, she itches all the time. After tests at the vets they told me she has allergies (grass and wool being the main culprates of all things). She is getting regular injections at the vets to try and solve this problem but after 14 months she is no better.
If you could suggest anything what we could try it would be most appreciated.have tried changing her diet to turkey rice and kibble but this changed nothing.
Thanks a lot.
Michael.

Hi Paul
i am glad to here that there are more than just a few few people that like white boxers. Pete is about 8 mths old, white with a brown patch over one eye.
most of my family has had boxers for the past 20 years but we have had Pete since he was 7 weeks old and now i understand how it feels to have a boxer as part of the family 24/7/365. it is like living with a loving clown with an attitude.
not many problems,he has never even crapped in the house (thank god) however if he gets the chance and sneaks off into the other room he will eat panties and throw them up later. this is definitly not good for Pete and quite an embarrasment to us. other than that and the fact that he weighs near 70 lbs and acts like he still weighs 7 lbs, he has brought a lot of happiness to our home.
love the site
thanks
Tony

Hey again David!
About the Barf diet, I only know what I've read about it online which isn't that much.
My sceptical side says it's a good tool to sell a product. However I can't see anything wrong with it and it maybe just the perfect way to feed dogs.
As a side note Jasons dry food is always soaked before hand in water so that it doesn't expand after being eaten.
About how many meals your pup needs David, I can't be sure, it's many years since I was last bringing up a pup, but the guidelines with the food should be reasonable enough for you to go by.
If it's nearing the point when you would have to reduce his meals in any case you could use a bit of initiative and try that earlier.
In short I don;t really know.
One little thing though, if the dog doesn't eat take the food away. Just to make sure the dog knows that it's time for eating and nothing else when food gets put down. Means that you know if the dog is off it's food in future or distracted in some way.
Hi Michael!
Nice to meet you, Cassy sounds lovely and I wish I could help her and you. Unfortunately it's not an issue I've had to deal with.
Have you tried looking/asking around at some of the bigger places like http://www.boxerworld.com/forums/ ?
I really hope you can find something helpful.
Hi Tony!
It's nice to hear about Pete, a lot sounds familiar. All except the panties that's definitely an oddity he has all to himself.
As far I know it's not a genetic trait of Boxers.

Great story & pics. I have 2 boxers at present, they are my life, Teigan (8yrs) & Deco 26 weeks. Unless people have had a boxer they will never understand how humanly childish and playfull they are! I couldn't bare to think of me loosing Teigan in the next few years as she is already going blind therefore I bought a replacement sooner rather than later & my god Teigan has come to life again with her new friend Deco. I am so passionate about my dogs words cannot explain. I have just had there photo's professionally taken (at a cost more than the 2 dogs together), but the're worth it. By the way I do have 2 children also. (they talk back). Teigan destroyed my home when a puppy, therefore Deco was in a cage from 7 weeks old, he's been out the cage now for 1 week and he's great not chewed a thing. I therefore must recommend this option for all new puppies. Anyway hope your dogs keep well and good luck!

Thanks for the comment Wew but spamming is not tolerated. Unless you have some boxer dog ring tones on offer?
Hi Shirley!
Very sound advice.
I remember we I got Lily it had the same effect on the middle aged Jason.
Really frisked him up, she was so good for him. In fact I think the relative age differances are great too because they never ever were very competitive witheach other except at the most basic level.
I think there was an extent to which Jason allways saw Lily as a puppy and let her away with murder.
"I am so passionate about my dogs words cannot explain."
Well, I believe I understand.
Thanks for talking!

What can i say - have just read your pages, they are fab. We have the most gorgeous white boxer called Molly, she is 7 years old and absolutely loved to bits, she looks just like Lily - it is scary - we have all had a little weep when reading her story. Molly has not been too well lately, she is however better not but we wondered if we should get a puppy before anything dreadful happens to her but worry if she would feel left out as she is so spoilt! No one in our house talk directely to each other but only through Molly - visitors think we are quite mad but then end up doing the same!! Molly best friend is Katy our grandaughter who is now five and who absolutely adores Molly.

Hi Jenny,
Molly sounds gorgeous, but only really you can decide if you should get another dog. If your happy with things as they are then there's no real reason i guess.
Whatever you decide good luck! Thanks for dropping by.
Hullo Guest!
You sound familiar, thanks for the compliments and cheers for stopping to comment!

Hi,
Not been to visit your site for a while so thought I'd drop by.
Since my last visit, I've regisitered my affix with the KC and we've got a litter of pups on the way. They are due around the 17th of March.
Hopefully it won't be so long til I visit here again
All the best

My fiance and I are planning to get a Boxer as soon as we get a house. However, I noticed they seem to die at an early age (5 yrs or so) due to some kind of Cancer. Is this normal with Boxers? I've been through loosing one dog at a young age and I felt robbed. I would hate to go through that again.
Your boxers are all sooooo cute.
Thanks,
Sherri

Hi Lorraine!
Nice to see you again, sounds exciting. I do hope the birthing process all goes smoothly. If you manage to get some photos of the pups up at your site please let us know.
It should be pointed out to anyone that's reading Lorraine s site already has a lot of lovely pics to view..
Sherri hi,
Well, it's certainly true that like a lot of the less common pedigrees Boxers do have susceptibility to certain conditions. Things like bloat/stomach torsion.
Two of my six dogs died at that sort of age.
However Muffin was put to sleep somewhere after 12 years, I think at 14. Not through sickness but incapacity though age. Jason is in good health at roughly 12 now. Lottie was around 11 or 12 when she died and Poppy 9 years old.
Only one of my dogs, Lottie, had cancer.
So from personal experience they tend to last a bit longer than has been suggested to you. However I don't know how well that tallies with the breed norm to be honest.
I may try and dig up some stats or generally accepted norms for you though.
Thanks for the comments!

Hi My name is Amanda and we (the family) have just got our first boxer she is 10 weeks old, red and white and her name is Brandi. I was a bit put off getting a boxer because I didn't know how they were with children and the size they grow but whilst my husband was telling me they are great with children another person told me they have a tendency to bite, so I was a bit unsure but since reading your comments my mind has completly change I am 100% sure now. I'm not really a person who knows alot about dogs althought my husband has always had dogs growing up. But not boxers and he has always wanted one. I am really looking forward to life now with Brandi as she is beautiful and lovable. If you have any tips on how to train her as we only have her a couple of days and any other advice you can give me please do. Thank you
