Hi Joe,
My heart goes out to you and Buster. I feel really bad because this is so serious I don't have any good advice to give. I wish I did.
I'm hopeing that somone else that reads will have some experience or knowledge about this.
The best thing I can think though is to ask somewhere much bigger than this where you might get the attention of somone who can help.
Try the forums at http://www.boxerworld.com
Best of luck Joe, I really hope you can get some help.

Hi Sarah,
I hate to say it because it's a stock answer and perhaps it can't work for everything but it's the only one I know.
Training, I realise Kovu has had classes as a puppy but if you can afford classes again. Perhaps one on one classes just for Kovu. It is likely better than any type of lead.
I do sympathise as I had terrible problems with Jason when he was young. Truth was he never really got out of it properly until he was 6 or 7. Though I blamed myself for not putting in enough time to try and train him.
The problem with training is it can be a slow laborious process with little in the way of quick results to keep you going.
I'll come back and write a little about training tomorrow (It's the middle of the night now.)
Paul

I love your stories and pictures. I'm the mommy of a white Boxer, Pheobe, whom we adopted at 2 years. We never got to see her beautiful puppy stage and seeing your pictures of Lily nearly made me cry. Beautiful beautiful dog.

My partner and I have a beautiful puppy girl called Sophie. She is so full of confidence and absolutely LOVES the kids. One thing is troubling me though. When i am in the garden she always comes for my feet! I tell her firmly NO, but she then backs off and starts growling, barking and and jumping around me. In my opinion she appears to be doing it in an aggressive manner. I am the one that walks her and feeds her and it is me who she comes to when she's tired for a cuddle and love. Have you or anyone experienced this type of behaviour before? Sophie is only 19 weeks old and she is the first boxer we have had.

Hi Gretchin!
Glad you enjoyed your look around, thanks for stopping by to say so.
Hello Sarah,
Dogs can and do in many cases play aggressively and I suppose it could just be that, aggressive playing. I can't say whether Sophie is being aggressive or not or if the amount she exhibits is excessive or acceptable.
I think though that since you know her best only you, your friends and family can decide if it's acceptable behaviour not.
If you're worried It's probably something you need to stop her from doing. Especially since Sophie plays with children. No matter that she may just be playing and never intending harm. One playful nip could cause a lot of hurt/problems.
You can try some training with her, when she exhibits this behaviour stop playing, don't be nice but of course not nasty either. Don't let her think she's rewarded. When she calms down reward her with touches, praise even food.

Nice Website! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who loves my Boxer! In January I got my first Boxer and he's the best! I couldn't ask for a better dog.. he loves to play rough and then he'll cuddle with you..... he's just like a kid!

every kid should have a boxer! Alfie our 16mth old brindle boxer loves to get on the the kids trampoline and bounce, he's just one of the gang and we all adore him. Kids come from all over to play with him and everybody know's him! he's got the most wacky personality and our lives would be so empty without him!

Hi, Ive just been looking at Lily and she reminded me so much of my own White boxer Oscar who died in 2003 aged 5. He was so loved and his death so unexpected I wondered if sudden death was something many white boxers owners had expierieced??

Hey Hayley and Claire! Thank you for stopping by, the trampoline comment made me laugh.
Though, and i don't mean to be a spoil sport, I'd maybe ask around if that's considered wise for a Boxer. I'd be a little worried it could cause a stomach torsion.
That being said Hayley I'm paranoid about torsion.
Hey Kelly!
I wonder, but I don't know any more than you do myself. Lily being my only white boxer. I hope not.
I know you used to hear a lot about them being deaf and such like but i don't know how true that sort of talk was or is. Certainly Lily had no health problems at all until she died.
Thanks for popping by Kelly!

Hi, my husband John and I are the PROUD Owners of Suzy our beloved Boxer. We got Suzy five years ago, when she had been placed in the local Pound by "her family", she had just a litter and was very sad about life in general. It took a while for her to come around, we thought at first that she was deaf as she didn't respond to anything and showed no interest in life, then one day she just seemed to "wake up". She has made our life complete and we just love her. She is now very sick and has cushings syndrome and a heart complaint (which she has had since we got her) she is on a lot of medication but never complains, she still wags her whole body when she sees us and the love she gives radiates. All our neighbours and friends just love her, and she is the mascot of our local Bar, where she lies at the fire and she thinks she owns the place. We will keep on looking after her for as long as we can and loving her to bits.
Margaret Reilly.

Well looked at the site and read the reading to be done, and confirmed my theory most if not all Boxer owners are mad or at least slightly off kilter
However being one of this crowd does not perturb me one bit. Sorry to hear all the sad stories from all of you out there, but its always easier to have a quick think back to an amusing incident or you dogs stupid lopsided grin to put a smile on your face. Anyway I've been involved with Boxers for erm erm at least 10 years now if not a few more, my parents have had them and I have a pair of my own as well ( Connie ,Brindle+ white female 3 yr old and Bane, Red + white male 14 weeks) the pup is ........well a puppy ,naughty and funny at the same time and Connie is my angel even though she has more then her fair share of naughty moments. Alas its time to nip out for a quick beer, cheerio Boxer people and did I mention this is a great site?

Hi, my boyfriend and I got our first ever dog, Boxer, six months ago. We called him Diesel and he is now eight months old. We absolutely adore him. He makes us laugh and we love him very much. Diesel is one of the family. He is tan with a black face and the biggest eyes. He is extremely good and a little shy around strangers. Together with his big eyes and droppy mouth, we can't stay angry at him for more than a minute. I think your site is lovely and I'm very sad to hear your stories, but you have plenty of memories to show. Your site is great and it's nice to know there's so many Boxer lovers out there.

Hey Margaret!
Sounds that, despite Suzy's problems she's got as great life and is loving every minute of it. I'm sure she will for a long time to come too. Nice story and glad you told us.
Garry,
Who are you calling nuts?
That was a great post, upbeat and i wholeheartedly agree. Hope you had a good time at the pub!
Hey Liz!
Diesel sounds a cutie.
But then all boxers are.
I don't think I've ever met anyone who regretted getting a boxer. You obviously don't. Very nice of you to pop by and tell us about your pup!

Thanks for replying Paul, it makes me feel so much better knowing that there are people out there who understand how we feel about Suzy. It is almost 4.30 and I go home from work at 5.00 and John and I intend to bring Suzy to the pub for an hour this evening because it's Friday and it's Pub time in Ireland.

Poppy is truly a beautiful boxer. That's what I'd want mine to look like. I am currently in the market to purchase my new best friend so I can take him with me everywhere. I have always loved the white, tan, black markings of the boxer, besides of the course everything else about the dog. I have finally seen a white one now, thanks to your site, and they are truly beautiful as well. Now either would be welcome in my home. I think I may even try for a white one. Well I am in Canada and not sure where u are, but would enjoy emailing back and forth as I appreciate your input and conversation. Sincerely Shawn

jsut thought id nip back in here and say that my old dog precious anne used to look like your lottie and she is beautiful by the way. and mine was the complete opposite of lottie mine loved meeting new people unless they were trying to hurt me. but for the most part she loved people. and she did play rough all the way up until she was hit by a car but once you said be a lady she stopped playing rough and became the perfect angel.
