I have three boxers, one brindle and two fawn. The boy is the brindle and we call him Coffee (3 years old), my girls names are Cookie (1 1/2) and Maggie(4). This is my first time breeding my dogs and I was wondering do Coffee know what to do? Maggie is in heat now and I have seen Coffee humping her, but he is not in the vagina. So I was wondering will he ever figure it out or will I need to find another stud dog. I have notice that Maggie has been in heat now for about 8 days, but she is just now letting him mate with her. I know that is normal for her to start letting him mate now, but I was just worried that Coffee might figure out what to do. ;)

Hi there g_code_1! :)

I have never bred my dogs or any others. Never wanted to or been particularly interested in doing so. So I can't really tell you any information that might put your mind at ease.

I'd would guess that given enough time Coffee will work it out him self. These things come naturally. :D

Still I don't really know, perhaps someone else will know more and answer your questions.

By the way, I love the names you've given your dogs! :)

;) Hi Paul,
g_code-1, We bred our boy Buster when he was 3 years old and he instinctivley knew what to do. The "humping " is probably part of the courtship ritual which goes before the deed. All I would say is that if you intend to breed your dogs, I would have someone with experience of it around, to advise you of the prodedure. :P

My male dog (Coffee) did finally breed with one of my girl dogs and I saw them tie up three times so we should be expecting puppies in about two months and wish me luck everyone. ;)

Good work Coffee! :D

I assume you've thought and researched this business so of course, good luck g_code_1! Especially if there are puppies. I'd imagine they're a lot of work. :D

Hey Phil, nice to see you!

Yes I have done a lot of research on breeding and just in general of breeding Boxers. I have all took both of them to the vet to get their health testings and they both checked out great. I should be expecting puppies around the end of June and I have plans to start interviewing for parents for the them around the first of July. I have a GREAT VET and the best part is that he lives down the street from me lol. I really think that my babies will be just fine and thanks to everyone that had a response for me. ;)
