So Toby my 2 yr old boxer decided to jump out the car window today
to catch a squirel...Luckily we werent going fast... he has some road rash
under his front arm leg and little road rash on each leg...
along with road rash on his butt:( I spoke with the vet and they said to
clean out his cuts and use bacetracin... and to watch him but as the night
goes on he is not doing anything... he no longer wants to play and he
favors his back left paw.Is there anything that i can give him for
pain untill i get him to the vet on monday...

Sorry poor Toby's so sore. Sounds nasty.

From what you say, I'm guessing he's not seriously hurt?

I wouldn't be surprised if he's in pain and doesn't feel like playing but i wouldn't try giving him any pain relief without professional advice. It could be dangerous.

If you are very worried and think something serious could be wrong, maybe you could phone the vets? Did he give you an emergency number?

As I say if you're not seriously worried about Toby's overall health then just let him rest, keep checking on him and giving him lots of TLC. As medicating an animal without knowledge could be risky.

Sorry I don't have better advice, I've never been in quite your situation. With my vet, If it seems serious I can phone out of hours and I've done that and even called him out. There can be a charge for that of course.

I hope Toby is ok and it doesn't seem to serious, just that he's sore. Hope he's well soon, give him a hug for me,

Paul
